Mr. O’Brien is a Managing Director at Galatioto Sports Partners. He has been with GSP since the Firm was founded in February 2005. Mr. O’Brien has transacted business for a number of sports clients including the Atlanta Spirit (Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Thrashers and Philips Arena), Chicago Cubs, Dallas Stars, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Dodgers, New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets, New York Giants, New York Jets, New York Yankees, Philadelphia 76ers, San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Blues and Texas Rangers. Mr. O’Brien has also worked on a number of private, unannounced sports transactions, performed valuations for numerous professional sports franchises, and provided litigation support and dispute analysis for matters involving professional sports franchises.
Prior to the founding of GSP, Mr. O’Brien was a member of Lehman Brothers’ Sports Advisory and Finance Group, which Mr. O’Brien joined in 2004. From 1998 to 2002, Mr. O’Brien worked in Lehman Brothers’ Media & Telecommunications and Financial Institutions Investment Banking groups where he focused primarily on Mergers & Acquisitions.
Mr. O’Brien received his Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 2004 and graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University in 1998.
